Boccia Artieri, Giovanni is Professor of Sociology of New Media in the Faculty of Sociology at the University Carlo Bo of Urbino (Italy) and vice-director of LaRiCa (Research Laboratoy in Advanced Communication).
He is board member of AIS (Italian Association of Sociology). Editorial co-director of “MediaCultura” and “Mediologie” book series, member of the editorial board of the journal “Sociologia della Comunicazione”.
His research interests deal with the relationship between media, society and identity, languages and expressive forms of modernity at large. Current research projects include social network sites as a ground to observe and study emergent social phenomena.
